L'ex nazionale scozzese e giocatore del Celtic Paul Lambert è il nuovo allenatore del Norwich City. Lambert andrà a sostituire Bryan Gunn dopo il 7-1 subito all'esordio in campionato.

NEW BOSS ON TASK AHEAD
HAVING been unveiled as the new Norwich City Manager earlier today Paul Lambert says he is fully focussed on moving the Club forward and realising its potential.
"If you look at the size of this club and the fanbase it has got, it's got unbelievable potential to do something great and that's what I want to do," said Lambert. "It's got everything in place and I want to be part of it and drive it on."
The 40-year-old former Colchester boss is confident about the challenge that lies ahead: "It will be huge, the expectancy level is the first one that you've got to try and get over. The players are going to realise that when you are at a club like this, you have to win more games than not and it is up to us to give the lads a bit more confidence than they've got at the minute and drive this Club on.
"There have been a lot of new lads brought in during the summer and there is only a week or so left before the transfer window closes, so I'm going to give everybody a chance. When you change managers, players get a lift, others go downhill a little bit, so we'll try and get them all confident and try and play the game the way I think it should be played. You need the big ones to perform, we've got good players here, we just have to get them into our way of thinking and hopefully they'll go with it."
With Colchester sitting top of the League One table after two games, Lambert confirmed it had had been a wrench to leave the Weston Homes Community Stadium: "It was because of the rapport I've got with the people there and the lads that came in, allied to the ones that were already there, they have been brilliant for me - I'm not going to hide behind that. It's a huge compliment to them, because they are sitting top of the league on merit. But when you get an opportunity like this, you can't turn it down."
Lambert's first game in charge of City will be an early encounter with one of his other former clubs in the shape of Wycombe Wanderers: "It's brilliant, I love the pressure of the game, I love the adrenaline rush of it. We know as the home team, the onus will be on us to make the running. Wycombe will come here and make it hard but this place will be jumping."
Parallels were drawn with the management career of Martin O'Neil who Lambert played under at Celtic and how he has gone on to follow in O'Neil's management footsteps at both Wycombe and now Norwich City. "It's strange how things like that work out," Lambert commented. "He's probably one of the best managers I have ever worked under and I always say, if you have a little bit of his success, you're doing okay. I've worked with some terrific people, the most important people at any club are the fans and the players."

Classe 1969, è stato un centrocampista centrale di nazionalità scozzese. Inizia la sua carriera nell' 84 nei Linwood Rangers. Nel 1986 arriva la grande occasione nel St. Mirren dove si guadagna ben presto la fiducia della società in cui permane fino al 1993. Nel 1993 viene acquistato dal Motherwell. Nel 1996, dopo tanti anni in Scozia, decide di provare l'aveventura all' estero e stabilisce di andare al Borussia Dortmund. La scelta non poteva essere più azzeccata. In un solo anno riesce a vincere subito la Champions League ai danni della Juventus di Lippi giocando titolare in un reparto di centrocampo fortissimo, che annoverava tra le sue fila gente come Andreas Möller e Jörg Heinrich, ben serviti dallo scozzese. L'anno fantastico al Borussia lo fece diventare anche una pedina inamovibile della sua nazionale, con la quale disputò il campionato del mondo 1998. Dopo la vittoria della coppa con le grandi orecchie, scelse di tornare in patria e si accasasandosi al Celtic. Qui trascorse otto anni divenendo il perno del centrocampo dei biancoverdi e contribuendo alle numerose vittorie in campionato della squadra di Glasgow. Finì la carriera al Livingston nel 2006, essendo il cosiddetto player-manager (calciatore-allenatore) della squadra. Ha allenato nelle due stagioni successive il Wycombe Wanderers. (Wikipedia)
